Best Medicare Supplement Plans Reviews
Medicare Supplements can save you money or cost you more than you should be paying. In order to avoid overpriced health insurance plans and to ensure you get a lot of value from your Supplement plan, we have the best Medicare Supplement plans review here for you to benefit from. We have reviewed the top-selling and highest value Supplement plans so that you can make your choice for health insurance with the information you need to make the smartest decision.
What’s a Medicare Supplement?
Supplement plans provide extra coverage for seniors who have an Original Medicare plan. They can use the Supplements to fill in their coverage gaps, taking care of those medical expenses that they may have trouble paying for on their own or that can pile up throughout the year and become very expensive. Supplements help to minimize healthcare costs and ultimately make healthcare services more affordable for seniors.
Medicare Supplements are available anyone over age 65, and seniors can either enroll around their 65th birthday or enroll from October to December during the annual enrollment period. For questions about eligibility and enrolling, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to help you get the answers that you need to make a smart choice for the best Medicare Supplement plan.
Medicare Supplements do require an Original Medicare plan but will not work in conjunction with a Medicare Advantage plan or with most healthcare insurance plans that come from employers or unions. If you have questions about conflicting coverage and which plan you can be enrolled in at the same time, you can contact us about that as well. Just keep in mind that if you are paying for any of the same medical benefits twice, then you will likely have a coverage conflict and will need to drop one of your health insurance plans.
Which Are the Best Plans?
Three standout Supplement plans are selling better than the others or offer greater value than the others. You may want to look at all 10 of the Supplement plans that are available, and you can do that by visiting Medicare’s official website and seeing the details for each of those plans. We want to talk specifically about three top Supplement plans, though- Supplement plans F, G and N.
Plan F is the one Supplement plan to cover all of your supplemental expenses. It gives you full coverage for foreign travel exchange, the blood you use during the year, all of your copayments and all of your annual deductibles. Plan F will also cover you for excess charge when you go outside of Medicare’s network for your care. It also covers the cost of nursing care and hospice care, giving you more complete coverage than any other Supplement plan. Unfortunately, you only get access to Plan N If you were enrolled in a Medicare plan before January 1st, 2020. Anyone enrolling in Medicare after that point has to choose from other Supplement plans and will not have access to Plan F.
That’s okay, though, since Plan F is limited due to its high price and low perceived value, in comparison to the other Supplements. We would not recommend Plan F to seniors who are wanting a high coverage plan. Instead, we suggest they consider Plan G and its high coverage benefits. This one will give you coverage for nursing care, hospice care, foreign travel exchange, all of your copayments and the Part A deductible. It also covers the cost of Medicare Part B excess charges and the blood you need to use for surgery and other procedures.
You should also consider Plan N. This one doesn’t sell as well as Plan G, but it may be a better value for you, packing in not quite as much coverage but offering a lower price point. With Plan N, you’ll get full coverage for Medicare Part A benefits, like hospice care, copayments and the annual deductible of $1,408 a year. You also get covered for some of your Part B copayments, but not all. Plan N further coverage you for blood, offering travel exchange and nursing care. It doesn’t leave a whole lot for you to cover on your own, which is why the best Medicare Supplement plans reviews will call it out at one of the top value Supplements.
We think Plan N is pretty special as well, and we recommend that all seniors consider it as their potential coverage plan. It may be able to save you more money than the others, so if you are looking for the absolutely best Supplement plan, then we consider Plan N a clear contender. It won’t be right for absolutely every senior, but it will save many of them more money than plans F or G would.
